Biography
Masego Morulane is a multi-talented Graphic Designer and Photographer. She was born in Mabopane, Pretoria, and after high school, she moved to Johannesburg to study Graphic Design. Her Photography work centers on hair, beauty, and fashion portraiture. In 2015 Masego co-founded Manechicks and started a street photography project #SpotTheMane, which aims to document and celebrate black hair.
Her recent work with Girlgaze, Dove, and Getty Images is a ground-breaking stock image library devoted to shattering beauty stereotypes.
As a Graphic Designer/Illustrator Masego has contributed to Book Dash, a project that is aimed at encouraging the habit of reading in children by creating authentic African storybooks. In 2018 she illustrated the multi-award-winning children’s book, Mpumi’s Magic Beads.
